Medmerry Reimagining
Info
Project brief
Our clients invited a reimagining of the ‘beating heart’ of their holiday park — a space where guests would find new reasons to dwell within its gates.
Detail
Once a thriving destination, the park has declined over time, its purpose eroded and its relationship with visitors reduced to that of a simple bed and breakfast. Set within the centre of an RSPB inter-tidal wildlife habitat, the site now needs a renewed sense of identity and connection to its surroundings.
Our proposal seeks to bring the habitat back into the heart of the site — creating a place where people and nature coexist in harmony. The design introduces opportunities for wildlife viewing, a network of walking routes, water-based activities and newly formed wetlands to support biodiversity and inclusivity.
A low-density arrangement of modular, high-efficiency dwellings provides accommodation that blends with the landscape rather than competes with it. Each unit offers private balcony seating and expansive views of the surrounding habitat, delivering a quiet, restorative residential experience quite unlike anything else in the UK today.
