The first stage of the refurbishment focused on reroofing and façade repairs, ensuring the Grade I listed hotel was watertight and ready for its internal transformation.

The next phase, now well underway, will see the extension and refurbishment of the property to create a 46-bedroom hotel with an additional 3-bedroom courtyard extension. Due to reopen in Summer 2026, the project blends historic character with modern design to create a distinctive guest experience.
