Project brief

As part of the refurbishment of the Art, Design and Technology Building, the façades of the Food Studies ‘cube’ have been replaced with a sustainable wood effect, stone panel product to provide fire resilience and low maintenance.

Detail

The design was meticulously set out and scheduled to optimise panel cutting to provide a random, horizontal layout with tonal colours to provide a warm and natural appearance. The finished result greatly improves the original dated, rendered finish and improves the learning environment for pupils.

Inspired provided architectural services, as well as fulfilling the roles of Contract Administrator, Quantity Surveyor, and CDM Principal Designer. Further improvements have now been delivered, including a refurbished atrium, new windows, updated external cladding, and a new flat roof.
