Inspired were appointed by our client to support them with concept and detailed implementation design packages for a new Cafe restaurant venue with external play experience, at their UK leisure holiday park in Skegness. This development includes the repair and refurbishment of an existing steel framed entertainment building, which was originally constructed in 1936. The addition of an alfresco extension provides covered outdoor dining, using an Italian manufactured blade style opening roof system and the erection of a Spanish designed and extremely exciting day/night exterior play park experience.

Our technical design team delivered detailed drawing packages for the restaurant and extension to the client’s appointed Principal Contractor, and they supported the clients Play Experience designers by providing detailed technical coordination between the relevant consultants, ensuring that all matters of existing utilities and proposed technical works were thoroughly integrated before commencement. The client’s internal Project Manager negotiated a commencement of works in October 2022, and interior and exterior construction works have continued tirelessly throughout the winter period to achieve an opening deadline of Easter 2023.

Design support has been provided by Inspired throughout the development term, including; attendance at weekly zoom coordination meetings, plus occasional attendance at on site meetings to assist with the technicalities of construction, support for the statutory consenting process using Local Authority Planners and an approved inspector, and also to support essential legal licensing and safety processes. Mechanical and Electrical constancy has been provided by ME Engineers, and Structural/Civil engineering designs by the team at Crouch Waterfall.
